Turbulent Tranquility is an ambitious multimedia installation made up of a 23’W x 58’H hand-painted mural with timed projection mapped animations overtop. During the day, the mural is illuminated by the natural sunlight in the hotel atrium; at night, four industrial laser projectors shine multidimensional effects onto the mural, creating illusory dreamlike patterns that are inspired by the flowing ocean waters surrounding the resort.
As the sun begins to set, the custom video art that has been specially curated for this mural is automatically projected onto the surface, creating a dynamic interplay between the static physical artwork and the ephemeral digital projections. The resulting illumination and animation serves to enhance and enrich the viewer's experience, adding an extra layer of visual interest to the piece.
